The Monarca - Supports monarch butterflies through the Monarch Joint Venture
Puente’s La Luna Mezcal is made in the Mexican State of Michoacán, the overwintering site of the eastern monarch butterfly. Each year, millions of monarchs fly thousands of miles from the northern US and Canada to spend the winter hanging from pine and oyamel trees in eastern Michoacán. Sadly, the monarch’s very existence is under threat from climate change and habitat loss, with their numbers steadily declining for the past 20 years.
Puente understands the vital ecological role these butterflies play in Michoacán and beyond. That’s why they’re donating 1% of profits from La Luna Mezcal to the Monarch Joint Venture, a partnership between multiple governmental organizations, NGOs, and academic institutions researching and implementing monarch conservation projects.
The Monarca is a lively cocktail that brings to mind the playful flight of the monarch butterfly. Mix one up today to help the monarchs!
